Cookie Policy

01.What is a Cookie
A cookie is a small text file placed on the user's device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when visiting a website. It allows the site to recognise the user on subsequent visits, remember preferences or ensure the proper functioning of certain features. This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage tokens) used on the Pix2Clip service operated by QR Communication (SAS, SIREN 940 163 496). It is drafted in accordance with Article 82 of the amended French Data Protection Act, transposing Article 5.3 of Directive 2002/58/EC, and with the guidelines and recommendations adopted by the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) regarding cookies and other trackers.
02.Strictly Necessary Cookies
The following cookies are strictly necessary for the provision of the service expressly requested by the user and are therefore exempt from the prior consent requirement under Article 82(2) of the French Data Protection Act. They include: the NextAuth session cookie ('next-auth.session-token') maintaining the user's authenticated session after login, with a maximum lifetime of thirty days where 'remember me' is selected, otherwise limited to the browser session; the CSRF protection cookie ('next-auth.csrf-token') preventing cross-site request forgery attacks, set for the duration of the session; the language preference cookie ('NEXT_LOCALE') storing the choice between French and English, with a one-year lifetime. None of these cookies is used for profiling or audience measurement purposes.
03.Functional Cookies
Certain functional cookies may be set to remember the user's display preferences (dark/light mode, generation editor preferences, last project viewed). These cookies improve the user experience but are not essential to the operation of the service. They are stored in the browser's localStorage and remain strictly limited to the pix2clip.com domain. None of this data is transmitted to third parties or cross-referenced with other databases. The user may at any time clear these preferences by emptying the browser's local storage, without any consequence on the nominal operation of the service beyond the loss of personalised settings.
04.No Third-Party or Analytics Cookies
Pix2Clip does not currently use any third-party audience measurement cookies (Google Analytics, third-party Matomo, etc.) or any advertising or social media cookies. No tracking pixel is embedded in the pages. Internal usage statistics, when produced, come from server-side application logs, anonymised and aggregated, without setting any client-side identifier. This policy meets the data minimisation objective set out in Article 5.1.c GDPR. A consent banner compliant with CNIL requirements is nevertheless displayed on the first visit so that users can pre-configure their preferences, and any future introduction of non-essential cookies would remain subject to explicit, granular and revocable consent collected via this banner or via the user account's GDPR panel ('Settings > GDPR & my data').
05.User Management
The simplest and most complete way to manage cookie preferences is the GDPR panel integrated in the user account, accessible from 'Settings > GDPR & my data'. This panel lets the user grant or withdraw consent at any time for each non-essential cookie category (audience measurement, marketing), with immediate effect across the service. The cookie banner displayed on the first visit can also be reopened by the authenticated user to adjust the initial choices. In addition, the user may configure their browser to block or delete cookies, either globally or for the pix2clip.com domain only — procedures vary by browser: Chrome (Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies), Firefox (Settings > Privacy & Security), Safari (Preferences > Privacy), Edge (Settings > Cookies and site permissions). Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent login to the service or submission of CSRF-protected forms. In accordance with Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, any consent required for non-essential cookies may be withdrawn at any time with the same ease as it was given.
